  • Lady Dyanaformer

📌 Sire: Vertiformer • Dam: Lady Macjazz (by Shakespeare)
    📅 Expected Foaling Date: March 20, 2025
🤰 In Foal To: Country Grammer

    About Lady Dyanaformer

Lady Dyanaformer is deeply connected to the Horse Husband Stables legacy. Not only was she the first foal ever bred by Horse Husband Stables, but she also became their first racehorse.

Her dam, Lady Macjazz, still lives on the farm in retirement, making this a truly multi-generational story.

This will be her second foal—her first, Lord Paycasso (see below), was born last year. Now, with a foal by Dubai World Cup winner Country Grammer on the way, all eyes are on what the next chapter holds for her growing family.

    📅 Expected Foaling Date: April 9, 2025
🤰 In Foal To: Brody’s Cause

    About My Audubon

My Audubon is a mare with a unique backstory. She was never meant to be here—at least, not at first.

She came to Horse Husband Stables already in foal in 2024 from their partner farm, Whysper Wynd, as a replacement for Empress Luciana, who had to be retired from breeding after a C-section delivery of Emperor Caesarion (see below).

Now, she carries what will be her first foal for Horse Husband Stables—a baby by Brody’s Cause—and her journey is just beginning.

Past Foals - Where Are They Now?

  • Lord Paycasso

    📌 Sire:PaynterDam:Lady Dyanaformer (by Vertiformer)
    📅 Born: March 12, 2024

    A Fighter from the Start

Lord Paycasso’s arrival was anything but routine. Positioned upside down during delivery, his dam, Lady Dyanaformer, had difficulty foaling on her own. In a race against time, the Horse Husband Stables team rushed her to Hagyard Equine Medical Institute (HEMI), where their expert team performed an assisted delivery to safely bring him into the world.

Though both mother and foal were stable, the team decided to keep them overnight for monitoring. They returned home the next morning, but the challenges weren’t over.

    A Critical First Week

Just 36 hours later, Lord Paycasso developed watery diarrhea—a red flag in a newborn foal. He was rushed back to Hagyard, where he spent nearly a week in the isolation unit fighting off a severe infection.

    📋 Diagnosis:
Diarrhea (Clostridium perfringens + Rotavirus B) → Resolved
Sepsis (E. coli + Staphylococcus aureus) → Stable

During his stay, he battled dehydration, anemia, and digestive distress. His care plan included IV fluids, antibiotics, gastroprotectants, and nutritional support. Meanwhile, Lady Dyanaformer remained by his side—though she required sedation and anxiolytic medications to keep her comfortable in the clinic setting.

    Against the Odds

After several days of intensive care, Paycasso turned a corner. His vitals stabilized, his infection cleared, and he was finally able to nurse freely from his dam. On discharge day, the report was clear:

"At the time of discharge, the colt is very bright and active with normal vital parameters and is nursing freely and effectively from the mare."

Now a healthy, thriving colt, Lord Paycasso is proof that even the toughest beginnings can lead to bright futures.

  • Emperor Caesarion

📌 Sire:OutworkDam:Empress Luciana (by Stay Thirsty)
    📅 Born: April 16, 2024

    A Rare and Special Arrival

Some foals are born with an easy entrance into the world. Emperor Caesarion was not one of them.

When Empress Luciana (Luci) went into labor in the early hours of April 16, 2024, something wasn’t right. Despite being in the correct position, her foal was simply too big to pass through her pelvis. The team at Horse Husband Stables acted fast, rushing Luci to Hagyard Equine Medical Institute.

At 4:00 AM, veterinarians performed a C-section, safely delivering a large, strong colt—Emperor Caesarion.

    A Critical First Week

Both Caesar and Luci had a long road to recovery. While Luci’s surgery went smoothly, she needed ongoing care for several days, including:
✔️ IV fluids & antibiotics to prevent infection
✔️ Pain management & incision care
✔️ Uterine lavages to clear the retained placenta

Meanwhile, Caesar had an excellent start, bonding with his dam and showing strength from the very beginning. He stayed by her side in the medicine facility at Hagyard for a full week, receiving extra monitoring to ensure he was nursing well and adjusting to life.

    A One-of-a-Kind Foal

Caesar made a full recovery and is growing into a powerful young colt. However, his birth also marked the end of an era—due to the complications, Luci was retired from breeding, making Caesar her only foal.

That makes his story even more special.

"A dystocia resulting in a C-section is a rare challenge in Thoroughbred breeding. Both mare and foal recovered beautifully, making Emperor Caesarion a true survivor from day one."

Now thriving back at the farm, Caesar is a colt who carries the legacy of his dam in a way no other foal will.
